Abu Dhabi Police Warn Against Distracted Driving During Sudden Stops

Abu Dhabi Police appeal to drivers not to be distracted from the road when traffic suddenly stops.

Abu Dhabi Police, in cooperation with the Follow-up and Control Center and as part of the ‘Darb Al Salama’ (Road Safety) campaign, broadcast two videos of an accident caused by distraction from the road and inattention during sudden vehicle traffic stops. Abu Dhabi Police warned drivers of the dangers of distraction due to using the phone to browse the internet and social media sites, make calls, take photos, and other behaviour that may lead to serious traffic accidents.

The penalty for distraction from the road while driving a vehicle in any form is 800 dirhams and 4 traffic points.
