Here are my top 5 picks for the best bakeries in Abu Dhabi.

1. Knead Bakery & Patisserie

This place is on Fatima Bint Mubarak Street. I go here every weekend for their croissants. They’re buttery and crispy – just perfect with my morning coffee. Their cheesecake is also really good. Creamy and not too sweet.

They make fresh bread every day. I usually get their sourdough. They also sell honey and granola if you want to make breakfast at home. The staff knows me now. Nice people.

  • Timings: 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM Daily

2. Keki Japanese Bakery

Found this little place in Al Bateen last month. It’s small but the cakes are incredible. They make Japanese-style cheesecakes that are super light and fluffy. Nothing like the heavy American cheesecakes.

Their sponge cakes melt in your mouth. They also make quiches for lunch. This is one of the top bakeries in Abu Dhabi if you like trying different things. My wife loves their matcha cake.

3. Tawa Bakery

My brother can’t eat gluten. So we found this place in Al Hisn district. Everything here is gluten-free but you can’t tell the difference. Their pancakes taste normal. The cakes are moist and fresh.

They have nice desserts too. All look pretty and taste good. It’s one of the Bakeries in Abu Dhabi 2025 that really cares about people with special diets. My brother finally found a place he can enjoy.

4. Al Sultan Bakeries & Markets

This chain has been around forever. My dad used to take me here when I was a kid. They make the best manakish in town. That’s like a flatbread pizza with different toppings.

They have about 40 types. Cheese, zaatar, Nutella, even tuna. It’s cheap and filling. Perfect for a quick breakfast before work. You’ll see these shops all over Abu Dhabi. They’re open really late too.

  • Address: Various locations including Nadja, Al Khalidiya and Al Dhafrah.
  • Timings: 6:00 AM – 12:00 AM Daily

5. Al Ulya Portuguese Flavours Café

This tiny café is near the bus station. The owner is from Portugal and makes real Portuguese pastries. Their egg tarts are amazing – crispy pastry with creamy custard inside.

I tried their coconut bread last week. Really good. The place feels like you’re in Europe, not Abu Dhabi. It’s definitely one of the best bakeries in Abu Dhabi for authentic European treats.

  • Address: Al Ramlah Street Near Abu Dhabi Bus Station, Abu Dhabi
  • Timings: 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM Daily

My Final Thoughts

These five bakeries in Abu Dhabi 2025 never disappoint me. Each one is different. Knead for fancy stuff. Keki for Japanese sweets. Tawa for gluten-free options. Al Sultan for quick local food. Al Ulya for Portuguese treats.
Next time you’re craving something sweet, try one of these. I promise you won’t regret it. Abu Dhabi has some really good bakers and these are the best ones I’ve found.
