Hiring of Teachers in Private Schools

For private schools new set of guide lines have been introduced by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai. The main focus of this amendment is to make teachers more accountable, transparent and maintain the quality of their work.

The schools have to be very transparent in the hiring process. And will retain their valuable teachers so that the teacher turnover rate decreases during the term.

2025 Teacher Hiring Rules in Dubai

Teacher hiring rules in Dubai effective from the year 2025 are as follows

  1. All new teachers must fulfill the KHDA’s listed qualifications, conduct requirement, experiences, this also includes the teachers who teach Arabic and Islamic studies.
  2. Teachers who are currently teaching should fulfill the above mentioned criteria till September 2028 and its deadline is till April 2029.
  3. Appointment notice must be applies by every teacher to legally formalize their association with any school. Any new applied appointment letter will replace the previous ones.
  4. The teachers who want to shift to another school mid-session will wait for 90 days to start teaching there, it will also apply if the notice period is given or not.
  5. For teachers leaving a private school will complete a KDHA exit Survey this will help the authority to enquire about the turnover trends.
  6. Induction training is must for every new training role. These training will cover safeguarding, inclusion and UAE’s values and work ethics.

New staff Deregistration Technical Guide

KDHA has issued new set of guidelines for acting on misconducts of professionals.

These new rules and regulations will be immediate effective in all

  • Private schools
  • Early childhood centers
  • Universities
  • Technical institutes
  • Dubai vocational centers.

If any teachers get deregistered by KDHA, his or her appointment letter will be nullified by the institute. He will also be refrained from applying in any other KDHA approved educational institute.

Deregistration can occur because of some serious crimes such as

  • Gross professional misconduct
  • Criminal activities
  • Breach of child protection
  • Dishonesty
  • Unprofessional attitude
  • Actions against some cultures
  • Unprofessional social media use

For avoiding deregistration all teaching staff members will be given training on ethics, culture, professional conduct regularly.
