In a Disney YouTube series called ‘’ We Call It imagineering’’, Zach Riddley who is the senior vice president of global creative strategy at Walt Disney Imagineering has discussed about his plans for the UAE’s capital Disney land.
He has told his audience that water will be embody in the main castles design for the very first time. He states that it was an amazing journey to start their project in Abu Dhabi and know about its culture and environment. And to have the Disney land experience in Abu Dhabi will be quite memorable.
The first step of the project was to include a castle in the design of the theme park so that it aligns with our stories of Magic Kingdom. Although the theme of the park is yet to be disclosed.
He also stated that the artwork of the design was shared quite early in the journey.
As Abu Dhabi is a city surrounded by water so this idea was incorporated within the theme park and water is used as an essential design element.
With the announcement made in May 2025, the park was said to be called ‘’Authentically Disney and distinctly Emirati’’ meaning it will be inspired with unique culture of UAE which will make it different from all the other theme park around the world.
According to a statement given by Josh D’Amaro who is the chairman of Disney Experiences states that the castle made in Abu Dhabi will be quite unique and different from anything that has been ever created. The project will showcase groundbreaking technology and visionary architecture with a moden castle’’. Disney CEO Bob Iger states that the theme park in Abu Dhabi will be the most technologically advanced one that has ever been built.
