LEAP is close enough for a short business trip from the UAE, but the venue is not in central Riyadh and the event is too large to approach without a plan. The 2026 edition runs for four days from 31 August through 3 September at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Centre in Malham.
For a founder, investor or technology team, the useful question is not whether there will be enough to see. It is which meetings and stages deserve the limited time available.
Dates, venue and daily hours
The event opens to visitors from 12 noon until 9pm on each show day. The official LEAP visitor information confirms the venue as the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Centre in Malham, north of the city.
Do not confuse it with another exhibition centre closer to central Riyadh. Check the venue pin before booking a hotel or arranging meetings. Travel time can vary sharply with traffic, and returning to a city centre hotel between sessions may waste much of the afternoon.
Exhibitors can enter earlier than visitors, but that access is for stand preparation. An ordinary attendee should plan around the published visitor hours.
Who the event is designed for
LEAP is a professional business event for adults aged 18 and over. Children are not permitted and there are no child passes. UAE visitors travelling as a family should arrange care separately rather than assuming a child can accompany them through the halls.
The programme covers artificial intelligence, cloud and data infrastructure, cyber security, finance technology, health technology, smart cities, energy, space, gaming, sports technology and digital commerce. DeepFest runs alongside LEAP with a dedicated artificial intelligence focus.
Choose a purpose before buying a pass. A founder seeking investors needs a different schedule from a technical leader comparing infrastructure providers. Write down five organisations or people you want to meet and three sessions that directly support the trip.
Tickets should be bought before travelling
The organiser recommends online purchase in advance. Limited registration may be available at the venue, subject to capacity, but relying on that after flying from the UAE creates an unnecessary risk.
Passes have different levels of access and benefits. Review the official ticket page rather than comparing old screenshots because prices move through phases. Tickets are described as nonrefundable. A transfer to a colleague may be possible before the event, subject to approval.
Keep the registration name consistent with travel identification and save the confirmation. The event app will help with the agenda, exhibitors and networking once access is provided to registered attendees.
Plan transport to Malham early
On site parking is listed for Priority, VIP, Founder and Investor pass holders. The organiser also plans a shuttle service, with full details to be shared closer to the event. A General Pass holder should not assume that private parking is included.
Check shuttle information when it is released and compare it with a booked car or ride service. At closing time, thousands of people may leave together. Agree on a pickup point that can be found in a crowded venue and allow a buffer before an evening flight.
If staying in Riyadh, choose the hotel with the full trip in mind. A cheaper central room may lead to higher daily transport costs and longer journeys. A venue area hotel may be practical for the conference but less convenient for city meetings.
Travel checks for UAE residents
Entry requirements depend on nationality and residence status. UAE residence does not automatically give every passport holder the same Saudi entry option. Check the official Saudi visa channel before paying for nonrefundable travel.
Make sure the passport, visa, insurance and flight details match the traveller. Regional operating conditions can change, so confirm the flight close to departure and keep essential medication and work equipment in cabin baggage where airline rules allow.
Professional visitors should also protect confidential information. Large technology events are busy networking environments. Use secure device access, avoid unknown charging cables and do not leave a laptop or badge unattended.
How to get real value from four days
Do not fill every hour with stage sessions. Leave blocks for the exhibition floor and meetings. The most valuable conversation may happen because there was space between two planned appointments.
Use the event app to group meetings by hall or zone. Record a short note after each useful conversation, including the agreed follow up. Sending a clear message within two days is better than returning with a stack of contacts and no context.
Wear comfortable shoes, carry a refillable bottle where venue rules permit and keep a light layer for cooled halls. Four focused hours can be more productive than nine exhausted ones.
