Pakistan to Cancel Passports and Impose 5-Year Travel Ban on Deportees

Pakistan has announced strict new measures for citizens deported from the UAE, GCC, Europe, and other countries. Under the new policy, the Pakistani government has decided to cancel the passports of citizens who have been deported from foreign countries. These individuals will also face criminal charges back home.

The announcement came after a high-level meeting led by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Present at the meeting were Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, senior officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Directorate of Passports, and other key departments.

This decision follows concerns raised by several countries over the involvement of some Pakistani nationals in unlawful activities. Reports revealed that thousands had been deported from various Gulf states and European nations — including more than 5,000 from Saudi Arabia — for overstaying visas or engaging in activities such as begging.

Just last week, Pakistani authorities in the UAE issued a warning to citizens about fake overseas job offers. The consulates urged job seekers to be cautious when applying for positions advertised online, especially those that seem too good to be true.

Pakistani nationals deported from the UAE and other GCC countries will face strict penalties.

– A 5-year travel ban has been announced for those deported.

– FIR will be registered against them.

– Their passports will be cancelled by the authorities.

– Names will be added to the passport control list and flagged by the FIA (Federal Investigation Agency).

– These individuals will be prohibited from traveling abroad for 5 years.
