Dh500 fine for illegally stopping before Darb toll gates, Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Police Warns Drivers About Unsafe Behaviors Near Darb Toll Gate

The Abu Dhabi Police’s Directorate of Traffic and Security Patrols has urged motorists to avoid stopping on the roadside unless it’s an emergency—particularly near the “Darb” toll gate. This warning comes after several traffic violations were recorded by advanced surveillance systems in the area.

Authorities emphasized that some drivers are stopping on the road shoulder to wait for the toll-free period, which not only disrupts the flow of traffic but also puts lives at risk.

The Directorate also reported witnessing other dangerous behaviors, such as sudden lane changes, blocking traffic, and unauthorized use of bus stops meant for public transport.

Drivers are strongly encouraged to follow all traffic laws and avoid violations like illegal parking or obstructing traffic—each carrying a fine of AED 500.
